Halloween Candies That Haunted Me
Several years ago I came up with an article listing some of my favorite Halloween candies, I didn't particularly have them set in the order from best to worst, just all equally good in my opinion. But that just leaves another part open, what about the candies I didn't quite like to get in my candy pail? Today I'll be looking at some of those Halloween sweets that I didn't like to have all that much in an article I call....

Pixy Stix

Now while this candy might have its fans, being the toddler I was at a younger age of getting these had the habit of making a mess with the flavored powder. I did have a better idea on how to properly eat the stuff when I got older, but when it came to getting candy door to door, my preference was anything but candy powder.
Milk Duds

Yes believe it or not, getting Milk Duds stuck to my teeth was probably one of the most irritating things to me on Halloween night. It was as if the candy was made to force you to enjoy it longer than expected before getting to hog the other candy you had. It tasted great, don't get me wrong, I just hated the aftermath of what was left.
Almond Joy

Being a kid at the time, I always felt that Almond Joys were a candy bar for the adults. I could eat candy bars with almonds no problem, but coconut? I would just give whichever ones I found in the candy pail to my mom. It wasn't just the flavor either, I felt like I was chewing on wet paper filling. If these were ranked I'd most likely put this one at the very bottom of the list.
York Peppermint Patties

I never quite understood the purpose of grown ups handing out peppermint flavored chocolates for Halloween. Did they not like our candy breath? was it because it was they were included with the same candy bags that they bought? it was always a mystery for me and my friends, and just another candy to leave for the parents.
Circus Peanuts

Circus Peanuts may have looked promising from the marshmallow design, but the banana-like taste of them really threw me off and I was once at a point where my parents told me to finish the bag that I opened. Thankfully Halloween candy bags were fairly pocket size so I just took a whole bunch to stomach them down at once, ending with a big "BLEH!"
Peanut Butter Kisses

Another one of those sticky candies that can make your mouth ache, Peanut Butter Kisses didn't just look like generic low budget store candy, but it seemed to be a common favorite for the neighbors to give out, and just more filler for the candy pail to me. So if they gave me a ton I would just try to empty them out of the pail and into my pockets so I had more room for the better candies.
