Rarely did my mom play video games with me, like Double Dragon on the Master System and Altered Beast on the Sega Genesis and on the PlayStation, Pac-Man World, switching the controllers between us when it was our turn to play. | 5427 | Article | Julie | I remember reading about the GBA on some gaming magazines of the time, saying it has a 32-bit central processor. I was afraid it would substitute the PlayStation for having the same processing power but it didn't show that power with the time and more releasing titles. Even the Silent Hill was just a novel for reading (of course the GBA has much more power than that). But then I was glad to have a handheld more powerful than the Super Nintendo (just with a lower resolution) and all portable! And it has some really great games. I also noticed the always great moral lessons in Doug's episodes and enjoyed the series. I didn't even know there was a sequel from Disney (which has only destroyed franchises lately thanks to the destructive woke culture). | 5486 | Article | Julie | Fantastic article by the way, my sweet @Benjanime.❤❤ I remember having this gem on one of those official demo CDs that came with the PlayStation. And yeah, I played Wild 9 many times this way as it's one of the most fun games from that time. It's easy to notice that the idea for Wild 9 came from the two-dimensional experiences with the Earthworm Jim series, which by the way was a huge success for its charisma, fun, character attitude and "cell animation" technology bringing many animation frames. The idea is innovative, fun and the game is enjoyable to play. The PlayStation received many important games throughout its commercial life but luckily, those nostalgic and unforgettable games magazines of the time brought all the game releases, and Wild 9 was one of the highlights, becoming a desirable game. But when I could get my hands on the Sega Genesis in 1991, I got mindblown with its incredible titles, full of velocity thanks to the 7.8 MHz Motorola 68000 processing speed and the unforgettable sound quality from the Yamaha sound chip, giving us those magical musics from Streets of Rage just to name a brief example. I kept the Sega Genesis until I got a Sega Saturn in 1995 and didn't have a SNES until 1996, a PlayStation and a Nintendo 64 in 1998. Article full of charisma and a delicious feeling of nostalgia, the result of a heart in love with the magic of video games. | 5539 | Article | Julie | There are so many 90's games I love and that deserve to be updated, but only if the original charisma and classic gameplay can be intact. Gems like Gunstar Heroes, the amazing Radiant Silvergun you mentioned, Chrono Trigger, among countless others. There were some of them that got a sequel but they were mediocre, like the PlayStation 2 version of Altered Beast and the newer polygonal Sonic games. Sonic Mania was an awesome exception though. Another charismatic, wonderful article to warmth our heart, bringing the best of the gaming eras, old and new. I am a fan of all the video game generations, and I'm proud as it's one of the healthier hobbies we can have.
