It made it so much easier to see the best voted articles without scrolling through page after page. The catalyst for the change was an article contest. As far as I know there were no contests on Retro*Junk since 2005. Vertex resurrected the idea to showcase a sponsor in Oct/Nov 2007 with a Wii game as the prize.
