| 49814 | Jerry Springer died |
Ah, there was nothing like catching an episode during a sick day from school and watching someone fight with one of their family members over a disagreement or some other thing.
| Benjanime | Apr 28, 2023 | ![]() |

| 49812 | Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire |
I'm 100% down for more Monster Verse movies! King Kong (1933) is one of my favorite movies of all-time.

It looks like we have an Orangutuan villain (at least one of the villains). My money would be on Space Godzilla as the main foe, maybe he came down on the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs and is lying dormant in the center of the Earth.
| echidna64 | Apr 28, 2023 | ![]() |
| 49811 | Jerry Springer died |
He definitely carved out a place in the zeitgeist of the era. Right up there with Morton Downey and Geraldo.
| Vaporman87 | Apr 28, 2023 | ![]() |
| 49810 | Jerry Springer died |

I've heard many people say that The Jerry Springer Show was a 90's icon of popular culture. Entertainment takes many forms and I watched my fair share of Mr. Springer's show.

The "Springer formula" for lowbrow television came up a lot at my job and it was a co-worker who suggested, "what if all the people who appear on The Jerry Springer Show are actually bit-part actors receiving union scale pay to play ordinary people on a television show?".

That idea began to make sense as the show's storylines became more bizarre and many of the show's "guests" seem very comfortable on camera talking about the unthinkable, lol.

Rest In Peace Jerry Springer. I fear your legacy is a change in popular culture for the worse.

| eddstarr | Apr 27, 2023 | ![]() |

| 49806 | The Café |
So apparently Mattel and Hasbro have brokered a multi-year deal to share IP for product development? | 49805 | Legacy Sequels |
I would rather see something new on the big screen and on TV. That isn't to say that there aren't properties out there that I wouldn't mind revisiting again, even decades later. The problem is that Hollywood is almost incapable of doing it right. And they've steadily gotten worse at it. They can't seem to revisit a legacy character now without first deconstructing him/her, which essentially takes all of their previous progress and growth and destroys it. It's the stupidest tactic in all of movie making. It's lazy and juvenile. The only film I can think of in recent times that didn't resort to that tactic is Top Gun: Maverick.
| Vaporman87 | Apr 24, 2023 | ![]() |
