50995If There Was a Retro Hall of Fame...<p>I definitely miss going into Circuit City. Sure, Best Buy is a step up, but I have more memories associated with CC than Best Buy.</p> Vaporman87May 27, 2025View
50994If There Was a Retro Hall of Fame...<p><strong>Circuit City!!!:</strong></p> <p><strong><img alt="" height="375" src="http://www.retro-daze.org/upload/IMG_2700.jpeg" width="500" /></strong></p> <p>My family&#39;s go-to-electronics store place in the Late-90&#39;s/Early-To-Mid-2000&#39;s. While it&#39;s easy to see why Circuit City went completely under and that they couldn&#39;t keep up with Best Buy...the store still brings back a lot of nostalgic memories to me and it will never be forgotten.</p> BionicleFan1994May 26, 2025View
50993If There Was a Retro Hall of Fame...<p>I wish I was around when The Ten Commandments was released in theaters. I can imagine the big time hype. :D</p> <p>I need to mention Charlton Heston&#39;s performance as Judah Ben-Hur. The boat scene and chariot race scene are both so nerve-racking and Heston just shines in both of them. How did he do it? How did he ever pull off doing these intense scenes?</p> <div data-oembed-url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ax7wcShvrus"> <div> <div style="height:0; left:0; padding-bottom:56.25%; position:relative; width:100%"><iframe allow="accelerometer *; clipboard-write *; encrypted-media *; gyroscope *; picture-in-picture *; web-share *;" allowfullscreen="" scrolling="no" src="//if-cdn.com/BG8ssv2R" style="top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute; border: 0;" tabindex="-1"></iframe></div> </div> </div> <div data-oembed-url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LVp4tvl5O4"> <div> <div style="height:0; left:0; padding-bottom:56.25%; position:relative; width:100%"><iframe allow="accelerometer *; clipboard-write *; encrypted-media *; gyroscope *; picture-in-picture *; web-share *;" allowfullscreen="" scrolling="no" src="//if-cdn.com/PJ1yN9Nf" style="top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute; border: 0;" tabindex="-1"></iframe></div> </div> </div> <p>&nbsp;</p> Mr MagicMay 25, 2025View
50992If There Was a Retro Hall of Fame...<p>FANTASTIC RETRO MEMORIES!</p> <p>Video rentals literally saved movies from rotting in studio archives.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><img alt="" src="https://i.pinimg.com/736x/ca/d1/21/cad121fd55c883d01fccb2d574b778a7.jpg" /></p> <p><strong>The Ten Commandments</strong> from <strong>1956</strong> was just one of the old classics that found new fans thanks to widespread rental availability. The rise of Online media took it from there!</p> <p><iframe frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/j3CANELyPo0?si=z-eqYOH8oNRIMbAz" title="YouTube video player" width="560"></iframe></p> <p><img alt="" src="https://i.pinimg.com/736x/9e/ba/4a/9eba4ad9968bff57ddb9a38508b9e6f9.jpg" /></p> eddstarrMay 24, 2025View
50991If There Was a Retro Hall of Fame...<p>Oh, yes. Movie Gallery was a great place too. Great wide&nbsp;selection of movies and games. I remember you could buy movies from there. My dad bought me Wayne&#39;s World and&nbsp;Naked Gun 2 on VHS. They were old, used copies, but they played very nicely!</p> <p>We had a place called Videos Unlimited here in town. I remember one Halloween, they had this room just for horror movies. It had this spooky, creepy Halloweenish atmosphere. It was pretty cool.</p> Mr MagicMay 24, 2025View
50990If There Was a Retro Hall of Fame...<p>Mr. Magic,</p> <p>Yeah man I really miss movie rental stores. Although my family&#39;s go-to-movie rental place was Movie Gallery...which while not as anywhere near as good as Blockbuster in its heyday...was still a really cool place to rent movies in my childhood.</p> BionicleFan1994May 23, 2025View
50989If There Was a Retro Hall of Fame...<p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Blockbuster</p> <p><img alt="" height="166" src="http://retro-daze.org/upload/image-20250522151157-2.jpeg" width="303" /></p> <p><img alt="" height="525" src="http://retro-daze.org/upload/image-20250522150918-1.png" width="700" /></p> <p>The mother of all video rental places. But this isn&#39;t just a celebration of Blockbuster Video, but video stores in general. We all love video stores, right? Blockbuster is just like Dr. Pepper: Always one of a kind. I mean how many video rental places have video game kiosks? Or it&#39;s own popcorn brand?</p> <p><img alt="" height="800" src="http://retro-daze.org/upload/image-20250522152254-1.jpeg" width="1067" /></p> <p>Netflix may have taken Blockbuster and our other video stores away from us, but we&#39;ll always hold the memories in our hearts. Blockbuster forever, baby!! Hooray for the <span style="color:#0000cc">blue</span> and <span style="color:#ffff00">yellow</span>!!!</p> Mr MagicMay 22, 2025View

50985If There Was a Retro Hall of Fame...<p>The Spider-Man movies of the 2000s really are something special. Just pure excitement.</p> <div data-oembed-url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzdBBl6GnuA"> <div> <div style="height:0; left:0; padding-bottom:56.25%; position:relative; width:100%"><iframe allow="accelerometer *; clipboard-write *; encrypted-media *; gyroscope *; picture-in-picture *; web-share *;" allowfullscreen="" scrolling="no" src="//if-cdn.com/D1OiWGT" style="top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute; border: 0;" tabindex="-1"></iframe></div> </div> </div> <p>&nbsp;</p> Mr MagicMay 16, 2025View
