| 46551 | Animaniacs | <p>I watched the first episode of the new series, and I enjoy it so far. It has a lot of the humor that made Animaniacs great, and even the new Pinky and the Brain feels like it's picking up from where the actual Pinky and the Brain show left off. Sure, the show doesn't have the full on supporting cast of Animaniacs, and it would be nice to see either that or a set of new characters show up. Either way, I think it's pretty good for what it's worth, and I look forward to watching the rest of the series.</p> <p> </p> <p>But hey, one other nice thing is that the show seems to have casted out the spinoff show with Elmyra as being non-canon, as the passage of time shown in the first new Pinky and the Brain short seems to imply that the events surrounding that spinoff show never happened.</p> | blueluigi | Nov 21, 2020 | |

| 46547 | Animaniacs | <p>I watched the first three episodes today. It's... okay. I feel like they are trying their best, but it doesn't have quite the same charm the original had. It is also relies too heavily on modern day references, trying way too hard to parody current events. Things like social media, our current political environment, culture wars. None of which is really handled with nuance.</p> <p>They also haven't brought back any of the classic sketches outside of Pinky and the Brain. I was kind of hoping for things such as The Goodfeathers or Good Idea, Bad Idea. From what I have read they aren't ruling out bringing any of them back. But why hold off on your debuting season?
