1893Subject suggestions for bonus pointsCool! I just hope the article I just submitted today doesn't fall within its parameters ;) (I just realized I didn't make a winking mav smiley. I'll make one hopefully tomorrow. Also if you--or anyone else--have requests for more, post 'em!)shakin steakApr 30, 2013View
1892Subject suggestions for bonus pointsAll great ideas shakin. I do have a contest coming up that is a focused writing contest that I think is pretty cool and exciting. I should have the details up tomorrow.Vaporman87Apr 29, 2013View
1891Subject suggestions for bonus points
raptor wrote :
What about some bonus points for certain brands or categories, like Pepsi or Kmart or comics?
Sponsored articles, could be a way for the site to make some money. Vaporman, say you get a store or a company that wants to sponsor an article by giving you money. You post a thread calling for submissions. Maybe the sponsor picks their favorite entry. And that writer gets a prize or extra points. Or, maybe there's a special week "Kmart Week" "Comic Book Week" and all the articles submitted go up during that period. Maybe the first one can be furniture-themed. "This article sponsored by Rutland Furniture" People might write articles about their parents' antique dining set, or the bunk bed they had growing up, or the day the writer's childhood kitchen was renovated with an island and a built-in microwave. Whatever people come up with; assignments are good kickstarters.shakin steakApr 29, 2013View
1890What's your retro obsession?
Vaporman87 wrote :

I feel like there would be a market for today's HD televisions set in a wood console. But maybe that's not the case.
record players as furniture
With increasingly ornate phonograph cabinets anchored in affluent homes across the country—six million by 1920—it was only a matter of time before furniture makers got into the music business. Flush with orders for cabinets from the Edison company, the executives in Port Washington decided to eliminate the middleman and manufacture their own phonographs and records, even though their board of directors didn't harbor a single notable music lover.
So why not TVs?shakin steakApr 27, 2013View
1889A-Team movieI've seen it. I thought it did a satisfactory job of paying homage to the series.Vaporman87Apr 27, 2013View
