1876Virtual Console ThursdaysSo how is it that Nintendo can release NeoGeo games?Vaporman87Apr 26, 2013View
1875Virtual Console ThursdaysThe Wii U Virtual Console lineup has officially launched, but before I get to that, I also want to get to the game I missed yesterday. Turns out that a game was released for the Wii Virtual Console as well. Yeah, I didn't think Nintendo was still releasing games through there. That feels kind of pointless at this point, but whatever, here's what they released. Wii Virtual Console: Sengoku (NeoGeo) 900 points With all the NeoGeo games that's being released on the Wii Virtual Console, Nintendo might as well rename the service to the NeoGeo Station... oh wait, that's the name of the PSN service for the NeoGeo games. Well, then how about NeoGeo Station Wii. But seriously though, what's the point in still releasing games for the Wii Virtual Console when Nintendo is already launching the Wii U Virtual Console with a set of new releases? Well, with that said, let's see what games are being launched on the Wii U Virtual Console service. I'm excluding all the games that's been available during the trial run. Wii U Virtual Console: Super Mario World (SNES) $7.99 Ice Climber (NES) $4.99 Donkey Kong Jr. (NES) $4.99 Excitebike (NES) $4.99 So yeah, the launch library of Virtual Console titles for the Wii U is nothing really that special. I mean hell, the Wii Virtual Console service had a much better launch library, but at least the good thing is that there will be much better games released in the future. They announced that N64 and GBA games are going to be released on the Wii U Virtual Console in the future, and there's also Earthbound to look forward to.blueluigiApr 26, 2013View

1871Awful(ly great) movies & shows
pikachulover wrote :
Partners the 1995 series. A lot of people said it was a Friends knockoff, and it was sort of. I thought it was really funny even if it only lasted for one season.
I wish Arrested Development and Ed would return to the small screen.Vaporman87Apr 26, 2013View
1870Virtual Console ThursdaysYup, that's Crapcom for you. Always looking for an excuse to cancel their games. With the most famous example being that Megaman Legends 3 got cancelled due to "not enough fan support". After seeing the backlash from fans about it, then their statement is obvious bullshit. And yeah, I agree about Crapcom's excuse of not having the source files to the Game Boy titles. They already released gameplay footage in the trailer to the GBA Megaman Anniversary Collection (or Megaman Mania as it was originally called), so that's pure evidence that they should have the files they need. Here's the trailer that I was referring to: blueluigiApr 26, 2013View
1869Virtual Console Thursdayssimilarly after fans asked them to release megaman legends on the psn store they said that they couldn't get some data and that it was impossible to get the voice files converted over. games like crash bandicoot 2 and medieval had TONS of voice files and yet they're on psn. laziness capcom. laziness.BenjanimeApr 26, 2013View
1867Virtual Console Thursdays
blueluigi wrote :
It was rumored that Capcom no longer had the source code to the old Game Boy Mega Man games, which lead to the game's cancellation.
That smells like an extremely cheap excuse to me. Again, porting old games to new systems is just emulation, which is not an unsolved problem at all. And Capcom would be well within their rights to download the ROMs which are surely out there and available to anyone who can spare five minutes to look.shakin steakApr 26, 2013View
1866Virtual Console Thursdays
Benjanime wrote :
speaking of the gameboy megaman games, did anyone hear about the cancelled release of the gba version of the megaman anniversary collection? that one was supposed to have all of the gameboy titles and you could choose to play them either in the plain black and white or in color
Yup, I heard about that. A few of my old GameInformer magazines that was advertizing the Megaman Anniversary Collection said that a GBA version was "coming soon" and that it would have contained 5 games instead of 10. It was rumored that Capcom no longer had the source code to the old Game Boy Mega Man games, which lead to the game's cancellation.blueluigiApr 26, 2013View
