Since I like horizontal ("pizza box") cases I can keep the old computer in stack with the new one, and a KVM switch makes it easy. [offtopic] Win7 is better than Vista but some things still disappoint. It takes so long to boot, even on i7 3GHz! Multiple display handling, hot swapping drives, and repair network connection don't work as well as they do in XP. I still prefer a tweaked XP or even 2000.
