The part where he went around earth and reversed time was intended for the second film, but because of the amount of money spent on that scene they didn't want to risk a second movie not being released so they worked it into the first film. Richard Donner was the origninal director, but he was fired before the movies were finished. Several scenes were refilmed while some of his scenes were kept. Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut was released in 2006 and is a much different movie than the Richard Lester film we all grew up watching. I'm glad they're finally porting a copy of Super Mario Galaxy to a new console.
