I have a few. Actually a more than a few mostly consisting of Marvel titles like Spider-Man, Uncanny X-Men, Incredible Hulk, Alpha Flight, Daredevil, Captain America, Fantastic Four, Marvel Team-Ups, Wolverine, Ghost Rider, a few DC titles mostly Batman related, and some horror comics. My collection ranges from the 1950s to around 1995 with most of them landing in the 60s,70s, and 80s. Some of my favorites.

I'll need to see what I have. Most of it is nothing but X-Men from 1990 on, which is when I started collecting, but my mom had some comics from the 60's that I have held onto. I'll try to find some stuff and take pictures. Though I don't own anything as cool as the ThunderCats and MASK comics!

Great pictures though. I like the art for that Robocop and that Savage She-Hulk cover is just amazing. I have always liked that cover.

Great comics there NLogan.

Thinking of the recent "Batman" article from Hoju, I am reminded that I have these issues...

Another issue I got when my best friend (who knew I liked Iron Man) gave me an Iron Man comic that his uncle had owned and given to him. It seemed like a pretty plain, unimportant Iron Man issue. However, it has BECOME pretty important these days. It's the first appearance of THANOS and the eventual member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Drax the Destoyer.

Another favorite in my collection...

And this is the first comic I ever received via a subscription...

And this one, which is one of my favorite Iron Man comics and favorite of his story arcs...(it inspired some of the story of the first Iron Man film)

The Silver Centurian Armor was always my favorite Iron Man armor.

Marvel's doing this thing in their movies dubbed "shared universe". That is, all the characters exist in the same world (except the ones in Sony movies )   ...and you almost have to see all their movies if you want to know everything related to a given major character. Well, this isn't a new business model for them. In the 90s, following Spider-Man or the X-Men meant keeping up with four main titles, plus ancillary appearances in others. They had interweaving story lines, so you couldn't read just Uncanny or Amazing without some plot point hinging on something that happened elsewhere. I got rreeeeaaalllll sick of that, and moved on to one shots, miniseries, and especially independent comic books--many of which may as well have been miniseries, for how short their runs were. So I've got plenty of #1s, but most people haven't heard of most of them. Here are some of my favorites:

THE FAT NINJA!!!

Two of my friends had that comic (though likely not issue one - but I don't remember)!

We even did a little video segment, in one of our home movies, where one of those friends played the part of The Fat Ninja.

That's awesome.

As for the majors...I have a few but they are mostly from (again) miniseries, such as

or

...or they are largely common, forgettable, and cheap premieres from the glut of the 90s boom, such as

For the good stuff like Wolverine #1, I have quite a few trade paperbacks so I can read those stories, but I never invested in the original prints. I do, however, have almost a complete run of Groo the Wanderer, both the Pacific and Epic volumes, including Pacific's #1, signed and dated with a sketch by Sergio Aragones on the first page.

Whoa, cool. Always nice to find someone else who has heard of such obscure gems.
