Only the second thread under the heading, "80's Sports Rocked!"... the first of which featured my little man crushfest on Tom Chambers, this one is about a player that was a little closer to home, Eric Davis.

In the late 80's and early 90's, the Cincinnati Reds were the baseball team to love all over Ohio. They weren't the best, but they played like it. One of the guys on the team who could make things happen was slugger Eric Davis. From the playoffs and into the 1990 World Series, Davis was a key component to the Reds winning it all that year.

Davis had an arm like a cannon:

And he was well schooled on the art of changing the game with one swing of the bat:

Today, I received an invitation from a local radio station to attend a Red's affiliate stop at a local golf course clubhouse. One of the attendees will be old #44 himself. I am hoping to attend, and ask Mr. Davis how one can create so much power from such a lazy looking batting stance.

Yeah right. I'll probably just mancrush on him.
