The place where a youngster could get away from it all.

We've managed to build a fairly nice for the kids outside our house. They love it. I know I enjoyed them greatly, and still do.

I used to love going to the playground as a kid.

But because of cell phones, iPods, and all these other gizmos, the kids of today are so easily distracted, that they would rather spend more time with them then outdoors. It's really sad.

Not if I can help it. My kids' time spent with electronics is regulated and we try to leverage it with time outdoors or simply playing with toys if weather isn't cooperating.

Nickelodeon has this thing every year called Worldwide Day of Play. They're not trying to keep the children away Spongebob, they're just trying to encourage kids to go out and play instead of being stuck indoors playing video games or whatever it is they usually do inside.

One of the factories in my home town constructed a playground for their employees to take their children to and have birthday parties and such. It is IMMENSE!!! We used to sneak down there and play around during the afternoon shifts for the workers there cuz noone was ever there then.
