Looks like Retro-Daze is all dressed up for the holidays. Very nicely done!

Let's say we get things moving along with one of my favorites from the 1970's.

Never turn away from a "Made for TV" movie. Some of my favorite shows were Made for TV movies, including this old favorite:

"Kolchak: The Night Stalker" - 1972

For Darren McGavin this was the role of a lifetime! One of his best characters and still one of the reasons the "Month of Halloween" is my favorite time of year!

Welcome to "The Month of Halloween", Boils and Ghouls!

Why look who's here - "Jesse James Meets Frankenstein's Daughter":

Cartoons are an excellent vehicle for introducing children to music. By the 1950's RCA had assembled a vast music collection and were happy to partner with animators to create the "Mel-O-Toons" series. Each episode featured orchestral soundtracks tailored to each story.

With music as the driver, this syndicated series is really awesome to listen to.

But this one is creepy enough for Halloween:

Halloween came early at the construction site . . .

Get ready for "Killdozer" - 1974 :

Few "DUNE" fans have anything good to say about the 1984 movie.

But I think "Dune" - 1984 is an awesome looking film with actual sets, instead of CGI. Amazing costumes and the magnificent Jose Ferrer and Sian Phillips. If you want that Halloween felling, take another look at the Navigator scene!

Ever since "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial", I can't help but associate aliens with Halloween. Anyway, ET had the best costume, and in his honor I would like to post an old favorite of mine from my college years at ASU.

In 1977 it was announced that Jack Webb Productions would be airing a new TV series about the Air Force's "Project Blue Book". This announcement was greeted with laughter!

Jack Webb was the creator of the police series, "Dragnet", and later "Adam-12". His deadpan, "just the facts ma'am" style of storytelling made the thought of him producing a show about UFO's seem like a bad joke. Jack told the laughing reporters himself, "just wait till you see the finished product".

And Jack Webb was right, "Project U.F.O." - 1978/1979 became one of the most talked about TV shows on campus. For fans of plastic scale models this TV show was a model builders dream come true. The series became famous for its variety of UFO's beyond saucer shapes.

This episode features my two favorite UFO's - the "Ferris Wheel" ship and the "Boomerang" spaceship!

Now some folks say Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, is the Queen of Halloween.

But I say that title belongs to Maleficent, the original and still the best!

There are Halloween pirates, and then there's, "Mad Jack the Pirate".

What?

You can't have Halloween without the Addams Family. I nean the 1964 television series, of course.

I can't overstate how much fun television was in the 1960's, and the Addams Family is a Halloween Treat!
