i find it a bit odd that bob didn't seek help by calling an emergency, there had to have been some kind of reason for him to just let himself go, but we'll never know the answer.

I guess if you have to go, that would be one of the easiest. You don't even know anything is wrong. Go to sleep... and you're gone. Sucks for the rest of us though.

He might not have realized he had a life-threatening head injury. He could have merely bumped his head and not thought anything of it. You never know with the brain what is and isn't a serious thing. Sometimes the most minor bumps can lead to something serious like a concussion.

Based on some of the details I have read, my theory is that he probably hit his head while doing something in his hotel room. He may have stumbled around before passing out from the injury. While unconscious his injury went untreated and only worsened. He passed away before he could regain consciousness and call for help.
