I was always thankful my local roller rink had a separate smaller practice rink for the uncoordinated. Had it not I would have probably been solely responsible for quite a few unintentional  roll by take downs.

At the rink I frequented in my youth, there was a ring all around the middle of the rink that was for those who were not so good at skating. The outer ring was for those who could keep up a good pace and not fall over TOO often.

My sister was once couple skating with a guy who was a terrible skater, and he fell down... bringing her down with him. She broke her arm that night. The skating rink owner placed magazines around her arm with duct tape until the ambulance came.

Ouch! This is exactly why I never dared venture past the uncoordinated roller kids club.

My skating rink used to have "sleepovers". What could be more fun than sleeping on a hard, wooden rink?

I'm sure they still have this.
