Ted Turner set the stage for the 1980's to become a media wonderland with the launch of his Superstation in Atlanta.

The television landscape turned neon colors with the rise of 24-hour programming with growing cable/satellite subscription services.

I miss the old Superstation. It had something for everyone.

It's only in hindsight that I realized how having my TV come alive after midnight changed everything that happened to me in the 80's. 24-hour television had a positive effect on all the commercial channels in the Seattle media market, and even PBS seemed to get into the act as Bernie Clark, station manager of KCTS-Seattle, moved to a 24-hour schedule.

I know I went to sleep daily during the 1980's, I just don't remember when!
