Let me repeat myself.

The original 1984 Ghostbusters movie was squarely aimed at adults, and kids love what mom & dad enjoy. It was the 1986 Saturday morning cartoon plus all the toy tie-ins and breakfast cereal that "kiddie-fied" the Ghostbusters franchise.

The 1984 movie was so good, it beautifully sugar-coated its adult orientation. I'm posting here one of my favorite retrospective videos - see if you agree.

Ghostbusters has been debated as the best comedy in American cinema and I could see why, even today leaving a huge impact with new action figures, more accurate looking collectible proton packs and other merchandise to help the franchise thrive. What surprised me and my brother though was a Ghostbusters video game with a completely original story from SEGA that came out in 1990. Because no third movie came out during the coming years, we thought of it as as the concept for that third movie while we knew nothing about those constant scripts that Dan Akyroyd had planned. My only nitpick was the absence of Winston. What did game designers have against him back then?

There's a rather large community of Ghostbusters fans that say the video game is actually the real sequel to the 1984 movie, and I agree. Remastering was going to happen but I'm OK with that (up to a point).

I have the original version of the 2009 Ghostbusters game on my Steam account, in the Remastered release product placement was removed having Doritos replaced with "Crispy Snacks".

Kinda freaky how only remastered images are all over the web.

While we're on the subject of the 2009 video game, some unreleased cutscenes surfaced that never made it into the final game, due to some parts getting cut due to time constraints. There's even some alternate versions of existing scenes as well.
