I started watching this series again on netflix last night.  Batman in 2039.  I love it.

I'm pretty sure the opening theme was very inspired by KMFDM's Megalomaniac.  Powerful words on the screen, same kind of music, and images of system and corporate power.

So I just read on the wickapedia that the impending Batman movie reboot might be Beyond.  Oh my god oh my god oh my god, that would be awesome!  And a lot less fan-hostile than just starting over again after only ten years *cough cough spiderman*

I've never been a fan of the "in the far off future" comic character storylines. But, if Hollywood JUST HAS to reboot Batman AGAIN, then this is probably a good idea.

The cartoon is very good. Paul Dini, acclaimed writer involved with Batman TAS (and who you might recognize from He-Man credits) had a big hand in the Beyond series. I like sci-fi, so 'far off future' appeals to me, but in anything, the writing and characterization have to be good for me to be a fan. Gimmicks aren't enough. With Batman's typical hi-tech, I don't feel like Beyond is much of that.
