Yes, Tom Hanks will be portraying Walt Disney himself in a film about meeting the author of Mary Poppins during the production of the film adaption.

I read an article that called the movie a "bashing" of the Mary Poppins author and revisionist history with regard to the actual negotiations with and treatment of her. Who can say. I guess it's pretty conclusive that she did not approve of the final film, and had said so in some interviews. What did she expect?

It will probably be an Oscar winner. Another Oscar win for Hanks.

Why are they focusing on such a specific event? This should be based on just Disney himself. On a side note I always thought Vincent Price resembled Walt.

I sometimes got the two confused personally. But from what I saw in the trailer Hanks seems like he did a great job of playing Walt.

I saw it this weekend. Thomas was just right for the part of Walt.

What would you give the film... Out of 5 stars?

I would give it a 4.

I liked it but the flashbacks get kind of annoying and take you out of it just when it's getting good.

My wife watched it and said she enjoyed it, but after looking up more information on the woman... well... she felt depressed about the film. Apparently she was not a nice woman, and died alone with nobody really giving a care that she did. Sad.

She kind of reminds me of Judy Garland, who played Dorothy on The Wizard of Oz. She had a depressing life too.
