I had been holding off on saying anything about this for a couple months, because I wasn't sure if things were progressing on it or not, but I believe they are indeed progressing (seeing what work is being done via their Facebook page). So here's the deal...

Who doesn't love a good "fan film", right? Sure, they're usually a bit campy and not well acted, but you can overlook it because it's easy to see the amount of love and attention that's been given to the subject matter.

A group of amateur filmmakers in Florida had a small Kickstarter campaign going on a while back, and I contributed to it - and asked a favor; that they would let it "premiere" here, in our Theater. They agreed.

Here is a synopsis of the film, still in production:

Set in 1992, a year prior to the Jurassic Park Incident and sudden destruction of the island, hundreds of men and woman walked with dinosaurs in a seemingly impossible landscape of discovery, research and cutting edge technology. Among them stood the JP Rangers, an elite group of animal handlers and infamous hunters who held tightly to the security of the island.

As any movie buff might explain, the Jurassic Park franchise has covered three films (with a 4th in production) but much of how Jurassic Park was constructed has remained in the shadows. While the original book by Micheal Crichton and the Jurassic Park Game by TellTale games does expand what the movies have established- we wish to expand our own fiction on what those early years might have looked like.

And here is their early teaser trailer:

After the successful Kickstarter campaign ended, the fellas produced a nice little thank you video:

You can keep up with things as they happen on their Facebook page, and I'll update this thread as needed.
