it probably sounds weird, but this is one of those rare roleplaying games that got me back into playing anything from that genre.

this game takes a mix of religious elements with military conflict/machines as a plot as you follow the game as fei wong, who suffers from an identity disorder. if you're familiar with another square game called chrono trigger, many of the staff from that game developed this title

This was one of those games that, even though it wasn't my favorite genre, I was very interested in. This one and Sword of Vermillion.

Love Xenogears, first RPG I played after FF7 and I was blown away with how great it was the story was about as epic as FF7 and I loved that there were mech fights it was like having a completely different experience within an already great game. No one ever talks about this game!
