As much as I love The Tick, I'm happy with the cartoon. The live action was good but I didn't feel the Tick was zany enough. 

I liked both the cartoon and the live action show, but for different reasons. Where the cartoon focused on the wacky goings on in the world of the tick, and introduced a lot of the out of this world characters, the live action show focused on the relationships. The sci-fi craziness was not really present much, and there were very few, if any, special effects.

I for one am all for this revival. "Evil doers... you face The Tick"... again.

Maybe this will bring hope for other shows that ended too soon. It's a little late for Freaks and Geeks but I liked The River that ended after only 1 season.
