2449ArticleVaporman87I wonder how socially scorned they would be if we sent them to school with all the coolest stuff... from when WE were in school? They could tell them it's "retro cool" and classified as memorabilia. Hmmm. Aug 03, 2015View
2459ArticleOldSchool80sPicking out the perfect lunch box was so important in those early years. Then I can remember how much my Trapper Keeper meant to me. I also remember the 4-color pen (that they still make, I think) where you slide down the color that you want to use - black, blue, red, green.Retro School SuppliesAug 04, 2015View
2460ArticleVaporman87@OldSchool: Oh yeah! I had forgotten all about those pens. Those were so cool back in the day. I had a few of those too. Though the only color that really got much use was black, followed by blue.Retro School SuppliesAug 04, 2015View
2462ArticlepikachuloverI just bought one of those multi color pens, a Lisa Frank one. It has a really girly design with kittens and ice cream cones. Retro School SuppliesAug 04, 2015View
2463ArticleHoju Koolander@OldSchool80s Good call! I always associated the standard 4 color pens with my older brother who actually carried them in a pocket protector (he was going to college to be an electrical engineer). But I remember at one point owning a huge shiny purple one that had like 10 colors, which was crazy.Retro School SuppliesAug 05, 2015View

2434ArticleHoju KoolanderSo this was really less of an Indiana Jones clone and more of a live action pre-cursor to Tailspin, huh? Never caught this one during my USA Network watching, but reruns of Just The Ten of Us were hard to beat!A Look Back at Tales of the Gold MonkeyAug 01, 2015View
2440ArticlemickyarberSince I missed out on Tailspin, I never made the connection myself. As for dog fights...eh. Some chases and stuff and some small fights. You never got the feeling, at least I didn't, that the show was under budget though. At least not then. Watching it again recently, you can see where a slightly bigger budget could have helped a lot though. It really is a fun series though. Well worth a look if you haven't seen it. And I too was a big fan of Just the Ten of Us. But I watched it in it's original run on ABC when it was part of TGIF! That was always a really fun block of programming too. 2438ArticlejkatzI was going to say this reminds me a lot of Talespin. But I love pulp adventures and this one seems as good as any. Was the show's budget big enough to have dogfights like the ad implies?A Look Back at Tales of the Gold MonkeyAug 01, 2015View
2447ArticleVaporman87I hope to catch this series some time. Perhaps on YouTube or elsewhere. I hate that I missed it on it's first go around. This is something that would have interested me in my youth. I like shows like this and Fantasy Island. Anything with a bit of intrigue and mystery/adventure.A Look Back at Tales of the Gold MonkeyAug 02, 2015View
