2644ArticleVaporman87You know, when I first read this I thought, "C'mon... seriously?" Then I remembered that I once had an irrational fear of Bert and Ernie. But the thing was, it was only at night... in bed. During the day, I could watch them on Sesame Street and not give it a second thought. But at night they bothered me for whatever reason. If I would think about them, I would have a hard time getting to sleep. Then I would, occasionally, see one or both of them in my dreams, and though they weren't physically assaulting me or threatening me, I wanted away from them. So weird!!! Sep 14, 2015View
2645ArticlekidcoffeeAt night a child's imagination can become a very dark place where even innocent muppets can become monsters hell bent on our gruesome demise...or at least this is what I keep telling myself. To this day I don't understand quite why my brain latched onto Waldorf and Statler in particular as opposed to Alf, Bert and Ernie,or any number of other much more horrifying creatures, but it did. Throw in a bit of the old ultra violence and my fate was sealed. I would say I am ashamed, but seeing as I did just out myself in an article I know that won't fly.Muppet MayhemSep 14, 2015View
2643ArticleVaporman87I know for a fact that my sister and I had created Shrinky Dinks a couple of times in our youth (with help from mom), but I recall thinking that, although cool, they weren't that practical. I think the novelty of it wore off quickly with me, and I never really asked for any more after that.Shrinky DinksSep 13, 2015View
2650ArticleVaporman87I can't say I care too much for the flavor or texture of those little mellowcream pumpkins, but I have to give it to you... this is pure genius. LOL I wish I would have thought to do this in my youth. I would have had a blast turning my Joes into pumpkin people, all with varying face designs. If you DO make a few here in the present, I must see them! LOLMellowcreme MadnessSep 15, 2015View
2651ArticlekidcoffeeI wish I could take credit for the idea, but this was all my best friend. He was definitely the mad scientist of the two of us, but now knowing a few of his secrets I am pretty sure I can muster up a recreation. I only wish I was able to hang on to some of my old Joes, but I am pretty sure I can still pick them up cheap at Dollar General. Also now I have an excuse to pick up more candy pumpkins, as if I really needed one. Mellowcreme MadnessSep 15, 2015View
2652ArticleoniparOh man, this was great. It sounds just like the sort of madness I would get up to around the Halloween season. I mean, look, I've gone and turned myself into a giant mutant candy corn! Mellowcreme MadnessSep 16, 2015View
2656ArticlepikachuloverI love mellowcrememe pumpkins. I think my mom had a rule about not playing with food. If she didn't they probably would have ended up being Barbie's prop pumpkin or something. I know some people put some type of varnish or resin on those pumpkins and turn them into earrings and other types of jewelry. Mellowcreme MadnessSep 17, 2015View
2657Articlekidcoffee@pikachulover they're the best!!! I think my mom had a similar rule, but she let it slide during the Halloween season. Either that or I just didn't listen. Looking back now I am thinking it was probably more of the latter, but I digress. Mellowcreme Pumpkins just screamed to be played with. They still do. Of course I think you're onto something with the resin...muahahaha. Oh this season will be fun indeed!!! @onipar Thank you for the kind words. How could one not get a little mischievous this time of year. The air itself calls for a bit of madness. As for turning yourself into a giant mutant candy corn I'm not sure which is crazier that or the fact I will one day soon(when funds prevail) be joining your army proudly. 2704ArticleVaporman87The laser pointers and fanny packs are easily the worst offenders of this list, with special recognition as a REAL problem going to laser pointers. I'm so glad that, although they are still around, nobody seems interested in annoying others with them any more. On the subject of skating, I too made attempts at rollerblading, but since the home I lived at during the time had very little concrete to use, I resorted to using my blades for miniature hockey matches with my brother, some sticks, a puck, and a goal. I didn't enjoy it nearly like I did the skating rink. But then again I think much of that has to do with the sense of community at the skating rink. I recently caught a glimpse at what will surely be the next wave of skating-related hooplah: <img src="/images/postImages/1442943899Strap On Skates.png"> Cruisers, by the Cardiff Skate Company. I saw these on an end cap of the toy and sport section at Target. Will they be the next big thing?5 Fads of the 90'sSep 22, 2015View
2707ArticleCaps 2.0Me and my brother still have a laser pointer that we use for our cats. It's fun to play with them that way. As for fanny packs, I still regularly use them when I go on major trips, like whenever we go to Walt Disney World. I also wore one to Chiller Theatre last year, and I'll be wearing it when I attend again this year as well. I do what I feel most comfortable with. For example, it's why I still refer to things as cool when most everybody else is now saying chill instead.5 Fads of the 90'sSep 22, 2015View
