51116I'm new Here. Watching Retro Daze for a while
Happy to meet you Scattered Collector and Welcome to Retro-Daze!

I'm a big animation/cartoon fan. There was a time when I thought I'd seen everything, but on a Saturday morning back in 1998 I was doing a random TV channel surf when I stumbled upon Trinity Broadcasting Network on one of those strange UHF scale channels.

I knew nothing about this channel, but for the next two hours I was treated to some of the most delightful Saturday morning cartoons, ever. One of the most fun was "Flying House", a Christian-themed anime cartoon featuring kids flying through the time of Jesus, in a house!

Never knew religious programming could be so much fun. Every episode the kids greeted Jesus with the same question, "hey Jesus, got anything good to eat?". LMFAO!!! Jesus, of course, would point to a table, that wasn't there before, now covered in food for the kids to enjoy.

eddstarrAug 18, 2025View

The Honeycomb Hideout campaign continued of course when a new group of kids replaced the original cast. As far as entertainment goes, childhood ends fast!
eddstarrAug 17, 2025View
51110When Saturday Morning was Fun

I took a tip from William Hanna and Joe Barbera, if the goal is to tell a story then live-action is Not superior to animation because animation is Not inferior to other operations. Cartooning is just another method to entertain.

When it comes to superheroes, animation is my first choice. Live-action does a superhero no favors. And I'm always impressed when the end credits to a cartoon hit the screen. Animation is not child's play when it comes to employment. Check out the end credits to The Galaxy Rangers.

eddstarrAug 17, 2025View
