It could be that they did a cover version of it. I know several groups did do cover versions.

A lot of the old standards were recorded by different artists.

Take, "Cry Me a River". I have no idea how many versions of this song are out there. But my favorite version is by Julie London. This song features Julie's voice with a simple accompaniment by guitar and bass.
