I really wish these were real.

I loved that old wrestling game, and the characters were almost as important to me as the players in Bases Loaded.

Apparently the act of placing peanuts in bottles of Coke is a thing that dates back several decades. My question... WHY?

I've done that before, it's like a salty and sweet type of thing.

The other day, I was reading a blog and was informed that Classmates.com allowed users to upload whole Yearbooks. I only owned 2, one from 1989, and one from 1990. So I thought, "Hey! I'm gonna go on there and see if any other Yearbooks are viewable!"

Well, there were none. Nada.

BUT... from there I somehow ended up in Google with a link to an Ebay auction for an Eastern High School Yearbook from 1991. AWESOME!!!

I quickly paid the "Buy It Now!" price and waited. It arrived today.

As I flipped through these pages I've never seen before, opening a window into my past, I found a few things I wanted to share here with you guys.

The hair. Good grief... the hair. What on Earth were we thinking? Well, the girls anyway.

Here we have the requisite manish, female, lesbian (?-you were never quite sure), gym teacher.

There was enough hair spray used in the making of this picture to create a mini ozone hole.

I can't believe there was a time when nobody really thought anything about being dressed this way.

This is a VERY IMPORTANT photgraph. This man is the inspiration for the ever lovable buffoon, Bert. I can still hear him going on and on about cars in my head.

And this is the real life Jonathan, inspiration for Bert's tiny moronic buddy, well... Jonathan.

Ah yes. There I am in all my 1990 - 1991 glory. Wearing glasses half the size of my head. I had a whopping total of 3, count them, 3 pictures in the Yearbook in 1991. The other 2 follow ---

This is me amongst my peers, accepting an award for the National Art Honor Society. I'm also about to be escorted to fashion prison for wearing pleated, white-washed denim jeans.

Me and my prom date, Dawn. We met during our summer escapades at Upward Bound at Ohio University. I made a good deal of friends during those summers.

I'm not in this photo, but my artwork is. See that mural on the wall behind everyone here? My friend John (standing, right) and I created that Star Wars mural. To my knowledge, this is the only known photographic evidence it ever existed. It has LOOOOOOONG since been repainted. In fact, we repainted that image over top of a previous mural of Prince from "Purple Rain".

You might not be able to read it, but if you find the "will" here for JUSTIN YOUNG, you will see he mentions "...and to John and Tony, the ability to draw like Elface and clap with one hand." I wish I knew what "Elface" was in reference to, because I cannot remember. I do know that we thought it was hilarious to sarcastically applaud somebody by clapping with one hand (slamming your fingers against the inner part of your hand). Yeah.

This was quite an adventure searching through this lost remnant of my childhood. It brought back a flood of memories. Memories I can now turn to whenever I want.

I don't think the hair and fashion is as bad as people always make it out to be.

Well, the page explains why.  I for one like to dunk pretzels in my lemonade.  If I liked soda, I might do the same...
