Woah! I didnt know you could do that with Google Maps! I'm going to find my old house.

Edit - Where do you get the link for a place in street view?

Once you find the view you want, you have to click on the little button that looks like a "link" button (chain link) and then you can customize it by size.

I think you're missing some code from that link. Try it again.

EDIT: Okay, it's working now. Nice little place. Looks to have a good sized yard.

EDIT 2: It reminds me of... well... here.

Cool, I didn't know you could do that now.
The streets look way bigger in this than they do in real life.

I like the architecture of some of the buildings I'm seeing. I'll "travel" the streets a little more when I get back from my church board meeting. Should be fun.

I don't have a precise hometown either. I've lived all over the San Gabriel Valley in the suburbs of Los Angeles. I just consider Los Angeles my hometown I've never moved from the area.

I remember you saying once that you lived in L.A. Did you meet any stars?

Once I saw Walter Jones and Gary Coleman in a mall in Burbank in 1994. They were not together or anything. I saw Penny Marshall at a Sparks game in 1997. A few years ago my cousin and I went to a Devo concert and we saw Pat O'Brien, Kiefer Sutherland (he is really short in person), and Mike Score from Flock of Seagulls.

I don't see that many celebrities.

About google mapping old addresses. A few years ago I google mapped a house I use to live at for a writing project. I should have taken a picture of the satellite view of the house. The next year the house got knocked down to build apartments.

It's too bad Google Maps doesn't have a "Wayback Machine" like Archive.org.

I grew up in Buffalo, NY. South Buffalo to be exact. I'm lucky enough to currently live in my childhood neighborhood. My wife and I bought a house a few years ago that's only two streets over from the street I grew up on.
