Work is currently under way on a new YouTube-based project. This is something you've never seen before on YouTube, I guarantee it.
We'll be taking the Retro Manic! board game concept (the one available in the Points Store), and making it playable online. But not how you might think.
This version of the game will be played completely on YouTube via a livestream. Yup. No web pages to visit, no programs to download, no browser extentions, no registrations. All a player will need is a YouTube account. That's it.
Here's how it will work:
Once the RetroDaze channel begins livestreaming the game, players can join in and interact with the game via YouTube's Live Chat area. They do so by entering a list of simple commands. Up to 5 players can be on the board at once, and other players are placed in a virtual queue until it is their turn to join.
Much like the board game, the object of the game is to accumulate points. There will be a leaderboard/statistical web page with lots of stats for every player and every game.
But even better... players can find "prizes" in the game that they then receive in the real world! Some of those prizes will be really high quality vintage stuff.
As the game's development gets closer to completion, I'll update this thread so every RD member can be a part of the testing phase.
