speaking of the ambassador program (and me being late to the party) i'm hoping that they'll begin releasing game boy advance titles as well as the ones that they gave out exclusively to the people that were part of that program.

hopefully they'll get on the ball with the game gear titles again too. sonic in triple trouble and shinobi were the only interesting titles that caught my eye

A few good titles this week. I don't doubt they'll sell a good amount of them.

Now, here's this week's Virtual Console releases.

Week of 5/9/2013:

Wii U Virtual Console:

Solomon's Key (NES)
$4.99

Xevious (NES)
$4.99

A pretty small selection, but not bad overall. I am glad that Nintendo is starting to show more variety from game developers. Though, I'm still looking forward to when they start releasing games on the Wii U Virtual Console that hasn't been on the Wii Virtual Console.

I have to apologize to classicgamesfan here. I accidentally deleted his account while flushing out a bunch of bot registrations. I'm sorry for that CGF. Please re-register and I'll give you 25 points for doing so. Again, my apologies.

The next game in Nintendo's monthly Trial campaign has been released yesterday. I'll get to that for this week's releases.

Week of 5/16/2013:

Wii Virtual Console:

King of Fighters 99 (NeoGeo)
900 Points

Wii U Virtual Console:

Super Metroid (SNES)
$.30

Super Mario Bros 2 (NES)
$4.99

Super Ghouls N Ghosts (SNES)
$7.99

3DS Virtual Console:

Harvest Moon GBC (GBC)
$4.99

Mega Man 5 (NES)
$4.99

So, overall, not a total bust. Even with the incredibly slim launch lineup for the Wii U Virtual Console, there's still some good stuff. I personally wish I did have a Wii U so that I can get the Virtual Console version of Super Metroid for the one month trail campaign they're charging for $.30. I never really have played it myself, so I would like to get my hands on it. Also, Super Mario Bros 2 is half off until May 23 if you get the Wii U Virtual Console version of Super Mario World.

Although, I do wonder why Nintendo would release Super Mario Bros 2 on the Wii U Virtual Console when they haven't released the first one yet. Then again, Nintendo already re-released SMB1 enough times as it is, and besides, it's already on the 3DS Virtual Console.

Mega Man 5 has been released as part of Capcom's campaign of releasing all the NES Mega Man titles for the 3DS Virtual Console each month. We got Mega Man 4 last month, Mega Man 5 for this week, and Mega Man 6 will come next month. Though I do have to ask, once again, Crapcom, when are you guys going to release the rest of the GAME BOY Mega Man games on the 3DS Virtual Console? And don't even give us that whole "we lost the source code" bullshit either.

Also, I said it before and I'll say it again, why is Nintendo and SNK still releasing games on the Wii Virtual Console service. Even if someone at SNK (and yes, I really think this has more to do with SNK than Nintendo) thinks that it's because the Wii U isn't selling, I still doubt they're going to get any better sales if they just stick it with the Wii Virtual Console. Especially considering that Nintendo is shutting off all their other online services (Forecast Channel, Everyone Votes Channel, etc.) except for the Wii Shop Channel.

But at least we did get something that hasn't been re-released by Nintendo in the past. Harvest Moon GBC on the 3DS Virtual Console.
