I'm kind of surprised at the PG-13 rating. I seem to remember the show being raunchy at times.

I don't think it has ever been raunchy enough to warrant an R-rated film. The show isn't quite as filthy as South Park or Family Guy is.

I was shocked by how far The Simpsons pushed the raunchiness back in their movie. Not even just the infamous Bart scene. Things like showing Otto doing drugs.

it just sucks with how late a simpsons movie happened really. way past the time when writing for the show itself was stale, then a new game happened which was okay, I guess, i just recall going to the theater to see it all those years ago and some jokes landed while others didn't to the audience i was watching with. if anything we should have gotten a movie around the time of south park: bigger, longer and uncut. a movie that was a decade into the series' run would have been interesting.

I agree the movie was boring. I am somebody who regulary watches the show, but is not obessed with it.
