@bklynbren: Nobody was real concerned about selling cigarette candies into the 80's (maybe even the 90's) were they? They still sell them, it's just they aren't made or marketed to appear as cigarettes. They are "candy sticks".

They might have changed the name, but they'll always be candy cigarettes to me. I think I like them because they are sweet, but not too sweet. I don't think I've ever seen a commercial for these, but they were a Halloween staple every year.

When I look at Jack Skellington on the home page, I picture him saying "Check your PM. If you dare!"

Like last year, we will be having a Halloween Article Contest again this season.

The cool thing is that Lesley Bannatyne, celebrated author and expert on Halloween, will be judging your entries this year! Mwahahahaha!

No pressure or anything.

I want to give a shout out to Lesley for graciously accepting the role of "judge" this year. Can't thank her enough.

I also want to help her any way I can, so I think we should consider purchasing some of her work, which looks EXTREMELY interesting to me.

Lesley has been called upon for insight into Halloween by The History Channel, Time Magazine, Slate, National Geographic, and more. She knows her Halloween stuff, and she knows how to write a good article.

So limber up, get those juices flowing, and prepare for the contest. It begins next week, and will end on October 20th, 2014.

Those candy cigarettes were still around when I was kid in the early 90s.

I remember like 10 years ago I bought some of those "candy sticks" with the pictures of like Spiderman on the package. When I was handing them out for Halloween some kid called them "candy cigarettes".

I used to get the cigarettes at the mall recently until they closed the old timey candy store.

I've seen them in convenience stores. Nowhere else, though.
