And I took a look at this system. While it does look really cool, I might stick with my old consoles. I do like the effort their putting into this system, though, and I'm not sure how much different the experience would be.

Yeah. I would say that, if you already have these systems connected and you're not hurting for shelf space, then this would be a waste of money. But for someone like myself, whose systems are all packed away in storage and shelf space is taken by my kids toys... well, cha-ching!

My TV has Picture in Picture and sometimes I enjoy playing my Sega and Nintendo at the same time!

vkimo, lol!

This thing would be good for me, because I gave away my NES long ago, and I never had a Sega system or Gameboy Advance. The extra features sound awesome. And, if you don't have a Super Gameboy to play Gameboy on your big TV like I do let me tell you it's pretty cool!

I've ordered my RetroN 3 from Amazon for $49 shipped. Having checked the features of the 5, I didn't see anything new that would benefit me, so I ordered the 3. Can't wait!!!

As a side note, the RetroN 5 was delayed until sometime this quarter due to faulty hardware.

the retron 5 will be able to play snes games that have a lockout chip (ex. super mario rpg, kirby superstar) which previous retrons and other famiclone consoles couldn't

Thankfully though, I don't own any games with those lockout chips. And my collection of cartridges are almost exclusively either NES, SNES, or Genesis ones. So that was really all I needed.

I received my RetroN 3 in the mail yesterday, and last night was spent breaking out all my old Genesis, SNES, and NES games for me and the kids to enjoy. Man, I had forgotten how hard some of these games were. Curse you Mega Man X!!!!
