well it turns out that my recent job has been pretty uneventful. there's a boatload of tasks that are on my schedule before the end of my shift but uhh.... i'm a tad slow with getting all of it done. i'm still currently a dishwasher, but whenever i'm about to end my shift the tasks are as follows:

wipe down the two metallic refridgerators, clean out the three dishwashing sinks, make sure all of the dishes are stocked to the kitchen, sweep and mop the kitchen hall floor and dishwashing room floor, clean the bathrooms.

yes, all of that is what i have to take care of. unfortunately my boss is very, VERY strict whether i'm about done or not, so i'm really not feeling it for staying at this job. to make matters worse since i'm not up to par with the speed i'm only able to work one day a week, so i'll be back to the drawing board in looking for more jobs.

Good to know you're taking a break Vaporman and rest up my friend.

Wow Ben, I had a restaurant job after I finished college. It was the only work I could find at the time. My job was to clean everything but only record 25 hours a week on my timecard, (30 hours a week netted benefits).

Hope you land in a better situation. I've never really stopped looking for work most of my life. I can't shake the idea that something better will happen - and I want that for you too.

Hope you get Vaporman. I feel like crap today as well, I think I caught the flu from my aunt and sister before I moved yesterday. But at least I have the day off tomorrow.

Could be worse Ben: your bosses could completely feed you to the wolves by completely leaving you alone and put you in control of your department on only the second day of your job.

I too worked in a restaurant. On paper, I was a line cook, but in practice, I ended up doing a little bit of everything, including washing dishes. The whole kitchen staff would have to stay after closing to clean up. I usually was the one to empty the deep fryer. I don't know if you've ever tried to carry a huge, heavy pot full of still hot oil while trying not to splash any on yourself, but believe me, it ain't fun.
The only good thing was that everybody I was working with was super chill and forgiving. I can't count how many times I screwed up only to have my supervisor wave it off.

Have you tried applying for something less stressful? Like maybe a cashier somewhere?

The women of New Vegas ask me a lot if there's a Mrs. New Vegas. Well, of course there is! You're her. And you're still just as perfect as the day we met.

I was thinking he may prefer something like back office, data entry, or something like that that requires next to no human interaction, especially with the public.
