Article | Dalek227 | I checked recently and I joined February 21, 2006. The one thing that always struck me was that I was stupid when I was filling out the form to join and put my real first and last name as my username. There was never anyway to go back in and change it LOL I looked in my private messages and I had a message from MissPiggy from 2009 and Pinface randomly in 2012. I vividly remember Nick Rules big time and Sunriser (the one with the horse avatar) and I recognize Thylacine's avatar. Bassman of course. I remember the whole Reaper thing going down but I didn't pay a lot of attention to that. I know that at one point I had him on Facebook but never actually talked to him. I remember Eddstar as being older, like my parents age. (I was 26 when I joined). It was great to post a thread and know that you'd nearly instantly get a response. Now when I check in periodically it's the same threads I've accidentally posted to twice that's eight years old. | Dec 16, 2018 | ![]() |
Article | Dalek227 | Like a few others I always think of Erik Matthews as well! At the start he was a clean cut handsome typical highschool boy. Maybe not straight A student, probably more like average. By the time it was time for college they had him acting insane. Another one was Becky from Roseanne. Now you could say the personality varied depending which actress was playing Becky, but Lacey played a very smart Becky at the start of the series and by the end she wasn't the same at all. In the updated version she's a total moron. While I'm are talking about Roseanne, I have to say similar for Jackie. She started out a friendly and funny woman who was strongly independent if maybe a little neurotic. By the middle of the series she was a total emotional wreck and completely goofy. | Sitcom Characters Who Got Stupid | Dec 16, 2018 | ![]()
Article | Vaporman87 | Looking forward to the next part, Dalek. I think time helps to sort the good from the bad. Some people tend to forget the bad, whether consciously or subconsciously, and focus on the good. I think I fit that description. | Being The Fat Kid | Dec 15, 2018 | ![]()
Article | Dalek227 | Oh I love this so much!! I especially relate to the comments your friends dad made. People don’t think they sound as bad as they really do LOL I’m still adding parts to my article because it’s almost like therapy. What I find hard is when I’m writing, I’m thinking in the mindset of how I felt back then, but I don’t want people to think my childhood was all crap because it wasn’t. So I feel like I have to throw in a reminder here and there that it wasn’t total crap it just wasn’t the normal skinny kid childhood haha | Being The Fat Kid | Dec 15, 2018 | ![]()

Article | Hoju Koolander | Great read. I wrote an article from the male perspective of a fat kid during this same era a few years back, so it was interesting to read your experiences. Thanks for adding your voice to the site. | Being An 80's and 90's Fat Kid Part 1 | Dec 15, 2018 | ![]()
Article | Dalek227 | Benjanime thank you! And yes I've got great friends and family. I'm working on more parts to this article and at some point i'll go into how it didn't all suck LOL | Being An 80's and 90's Fat Kid Part 1 | Dec 14, 2018 | ![]()
Article | Benjanime | i had a couple of fairly plump friends in the past and they were pretty humble and fun to be around, sorry to hear that you had a rough experience about your weight. but i'm sure you have friends who value you no matter what now :) | Being An 80's and 90's Fat Kid Part 1 | Dec 14, 2018 | ![]()
Article | Dalek227 | Thank you for the comment! I absolutely agree that it's made us more compassionate adults. At the time it sure did feel like a big deal but as an adult now, seeing the severe bullying that teenagers face today, it's nothing compared to that. However writing this is kind of like therapy. I don't dwell on the bullying, it was only a little blip in my life. However when I'm reminded of it I like to gab about it haha! | Being An 80's and 90's Fat Kid Part 1 | Dec 14, 2018 | ![]()
