Do you watch the show? If so, is it as good as people say?

Just about to pop on Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the first time since probably the 90s. I used to have the mini poster for this movie hanging in my bedroom when I was a kid.

I actually did watch the whole series a few years ago. Interstingly, the only reason I did was because a group of villains called "The Gentlemen" were supposed to be really creepy. And sure, I could have just watched the episodes with them in it, but I figured I might as well go all in.
I have mixed feelings about the show. It's pretty "teeny bopper" usually, with a lot of those teen soap opera moments you'd expect, but it has it's good moments too. I liked it enough that I was able to watch the whole series, though I didn't have the stomach to watch the Angel spinoff.
Not sure if that's an endorsement or not. :-p

Been on a bit of an 80s-90s binge lately. Past week or two:
The Great Outdoors, Joe Versus the Volcanoe, Explorers, Virus, Last Action Hero, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Adventures in Babysitting, and Slumber Party Massacre II.

Confession time... I've never watched Fast Times at Ridgemont High. I know that's grounds for revoking my "retro" credentials... but I never felt like an '80s high school teen film could get any better than The Breakfast Club, so I never bothered watching any beyond that.

Hmm, I stil can't figure out how to quote posts...
Vaporman, That makes perfect sense to me! For whatever reason (probably because it was on TV a lot), Fast Times is seared into my brain. Funny enough, I didn't realize until I rewatched it on a streaming service that there was nudity in the movie! Young me woul dhave liked to have known about that, as I distinctly remember my severe disappointment when they'd cut away from Phoebe Cates as she removed her swimming suit.
Mr. Magic, Yeah, the first SPM is definitely a better movie than the sequel. But Joe Bob Briggs played SPM II on his recent marathon, so of course I had to watch.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High was based on a book. Some Rolling Stone writer went undercover at a high school and documented their experience.

The Lost Boys
Scary, funny, appealing. If I could pick a favorite 80s movie star, it would be Kiefer Sutherland. That's a guy with attitude.
But anyway, if like vampire films, cult films, or both, I recommend this.
10 stars!
You may be surprised at how good a filmmaker Joel Schumacher is.
