I bought a brand new Jansport backpack. This is the first brand new one I owned in over ten years. The last time I had brand new one I was still in middle school and still hadn't moved out of New York.

I remember my first "real" backpack (No cartoons/licensing) was a leather bottom Jansport my sister got me for my birthday in 4th or 5th grade. I was so stoked about it! For some reason now I get bored and swap backpacks every few years - wish I could just stick with one.
