Came back from the doctor today. I lost 30 lbs!

But I was told to cut back on the juice and soda.

I over did it a bit because I overate during the Super Bowl.

Thanks Slivervix!

It happens. Just as long as it doesn't distract you from working toward your goal, an occasional misstep is acceptable.

My blood pressure remains normal. I'm thankful for that. Thankful to still be on my exercise, diet, and no soda/sugary drinks kick as well.

I will have to take matters seriously... two weeks ago I played my first soccer match in more than eight years (I had a severe injury on my foot that kept me away from the field) and... it was a painful experience. Not only did I lose ALL my technique (I played the entire season 2007-2008, several matches a week) but I also couldn't keep up with the rival players. I had to be replaced less than twenty minutes in, which was incredibly humiliating for me.

Of course that I wasn't expecting to go back as Messi (that would be unrealistic, even as a dream) but I once was a really strong defender who rival players tried to avoid at all costs. *Sigh* It's gonna be a long way to return to my prior state.

I will start a severe diet full of protein, as well as to run several kilometers a week (and it won't hurt to practice with the ball either).

That sounds good Silv. Sorry to hear that you had a rough time of it out there. I know the feeling. I remember being able to play full court basketball at one point. I would probably pass out now.

Hopefully this thread will be helpful to us all as we try to get more healthy.

What foods are you enjoying (or not enjoying) these days?

I recently had a plate of apple slices, crackers, cheddar, and salami. Mix and match, like adult Lunchables. It was awesome. Another good thing was a frozen pack of green beans with almond slivers.

More oatmeal in the diet, more water, more fish and poultry. Less red meat, no pop, less processed, sugary snacks. Like last night, we had whole wheat spaghetti with turkey meatballs.
