i still remember episode II being the worst of the bunch since the romantic scene with luke and padme was so drawn out and boring and they showed more emotion than cardboard. but hey, yoda kicking arse at least took my interest.

Hell, I could tell you what I miss and remember from the 2000s right now:
  • Pop Punk being popular and being replaced by Rap as popular music.
  • A whole bunch of classic Cartoon Network/Nickelodeon shows. 
  • Speaking of that, complaining about how Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon aren't as good anymore.
  • Midnight releases of Harry Potter books.
  • The Internet before the rise of Facebook/Social Media.
  • Talking about which edgy cartoon/adult game you played on Newgrounds with your friends at school.
  • Looking forward to new Star Wars and LOTR installments.

Something I don't miss:
  • Before I learned how to torrent, I would rip albums and movies off Youtube with one of those sketchy third party downloaders. Back then Youtube still had a 10 minute time limit for most videos so the whole album/movie would be split up into multiple parts. Bizarrely, sometimes only one of the parts would be taken down for copyright violation so I'd be left with an incomplete movie or album.

Ah... Youtube's 10 minute time limit. Now, that is something I don't miss.

Speaking of the internet, MySpace is something I see people look back on fondly. Though, I barely even used it when it was around.

speaking of youtube, the unnecessary layouts and changes are ticking me off. that and the idea of removing the feature to use annotations for videos sucks too. i thought it was the most useful tool and now they want to fix what isn't broken. just... why?

People kind of are looking at the Star Wars prequels in a different light then they did when they were first released. James Rolfe highlighted this in a video released a few months ago. Granted, no one is calling them the greatest movies of all time, but people are re-evaluating them differently compared to just how hated they were when they were first released. -end quote

I'm one who doesn't hate the Star Wars prequels. I don't like any of them nearly as much as I like the original trilogy, but they have their moments.

Just as a response and maybe we can open a thread on the Star Wars prequels, but here's my two cents-

I actually hate them MORE than when they first came out. Especially, after the Force Awakens which was a competently made addition to the Star Wars Universe. 


My problem with the prequel series is this- Why do they exist?

It is supposed to be a Darth Vader origin story. Think about that versus what we actually got.

Anakin is easily the WORST part of the prequels and Darth Vader only shows up in the last 10 seconds of Revenge of the Sith. 

They had three movies to tell this origin story and halfway through revenge of the Sith they have this arbitrary rule that Jedis weren't allowed to fall in love and THIS made him join the dark side?! It's enough to make you yell HACK at the movie screen.

yeah, the prequels are kind of hard to sit through. lucas had such a long gap to work on these after episode VI and the first ten minutes of episode I was already a bad sign. oh, and my parents were evil enough to give me a jar jar binks talking alarm clock during christmas of '99.
