Mr Magic
Thanks for leading me to this film, echidna.

Mr Magic
The Last Waltz

A documentary about The Band's farewell concert.

Some very big names played with The Band in this concert, like Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, and Ringo Starr.

I didn't know that much about this rock group, prior to watching this. Quite a talented group of guys. Lots of great performances in this documentary.

4 1/2 stars.

I've been sick since Monday night, so I've watched about a dozen movies to pass the time: Varsity Blues, Freedom Writers, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Act of Valor, American Sniper, Saving Private Ryan and Edge of Darkness.

On top of that, Investigation Discovery lineup sucks now and days. That used to be one of my favorite channels to watch.

Finally saw Spider-Verse the other night. It was great! There was a lot of genuinely funny jokes, and I really loved the animation.

Oh, and yes, the post credits scene was neat too.

The women of New Vegas ask me a lot if there's a Mrs. New Vegas. Well, of course there is! You're her. And you're still just as perfect as the day we met.

Solo: A Star Wars Story 5/10

The movie starts off with an additional two prologues explaining what is happening, this is when you know that you are in for a bumpy ride. Solo reminded me a lot of The Phantom Menace with a pointless storyline and a few entertaining chase scenes. L3 is this generation's Jar Jar Binks.

Helen of Troy (1956)

An excellent retelling of the Greek/Trojan war.

5 stars.

I still like the Troy movie with Brad Pitt, though others may feel differently.

Backcountry (2014)

I was scrolling through Netflix and came upon this film. It sounded interesting so I gave it a shot.

It was very boring. The film tells the story about a couple that got lost in the woods while hiking, but doesn't really do much with it. We're almost halfway through the movie by the time this becomes a problem and time is wasted on other things like the couple dealing with an odd stranger that doesn't show up again in the film.

Not really that great of a movie. It has an interesting premise but poor payoff.

Sorcerer (1977)

I saw this while browsing the VHS section at my local thrift store. The cover art really got me, so I decided to give it a try. It has the dude from Jaws. The movie was alright, but had a really amazing bridge crossing scene in turbulent weather. The title makes no sense, but it was a decent flick.

back to the future III (1990)

i can see why this is considered the weakest of the trilogy, after II had shown off a handful of great special effects for its 2015 timeline, III just felt like two steps back, especially when doc brown accepts changing history after making a big deal about it in the previous two films. it does a good job of taking a nod to the spaghetti westerns of old, and we get more of a bond between marty and doc brown, but those are really the only positives i found.

Yeah, I agree Ben - Doc's love romance was pretty annoying too.

Into The Spiderverse (2018)

I finally watched this, I tried it on a VR headset too which definitely enhanced the visuals. Very witty and engaging. I do wish we would have saw some other Spidey's like the 2099 Version. I don't get how Spiderman can crack a boulder in half but has to punch the Octopus lady in the face 15 times to subdue her, and how on earth does Kingpin wipe??
