Saw Venom tonight. In a theater, which I rarely do these days.

Oof. The best part was the Shazam! trailer that played before the movie even started.

2/5 for this dud. It's not completely terrible, but not really worth watching either.

The women of New Vegas ask me a lot if there's a Mrs. New Vegas. Well, of course there is! You're her. And you're still just as perfect as the day we met.

The People Under The Stairs (1991)

Man...what a time warp. I remember seeing bits and pieces of this as a kid. My dad was never the type to restrict our TV and usually fell asleep mid movie so I guess I must have been around 8 when I saw this on cable. It seemed so scary back then. This time around it was actually hilarious, kind of an Evil Dead vibe. It's scary but you have to laugh. Classic!

Halloween (1978) 8/10

It was my first time watching this film from the legendary John Carpenter and it did not disappoint. I loved the creative camera work and the effective use of jump scares even in broad daylight. It's amazing how this film was made with a budget of only $325,000.

Teen Titans GO! To The Movies (2018)

A fun and humorous animated romp with just enough story to keep it interesting. There were a good amount of laugh-out-loud moments in this. Plus no TTG outing would be complete without some homage to the ‘80s, and this was no exception. The time traveling Big Wheels scene was drenched in ‘80s cheese.

You should watch Halloween II. It's a great follow-up.

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween

We took the kids to watch this film last night, and it was pretty good. A nice Halloween themed film to take the kids to, and just enjoyable enough to entertain. The story was predictable, but the end twist was unexpected. If you have kids, this is a great film to take in during this Halloween season as a family.

Been watching scary movies. Saw the Witch. It was good in my opinion. They certainly did their homework tying in historical dialogue from journals and trials, Essex English accents, fairy tales like Snow White and Hansel and Gretel, ergot poisoning on the corn causing hallucinations, blighted crops, marrow, fat, and blood of an unbaptized baby used to make witches and brooms fly, talking goats, witches' covens, pacts with the devil, puritanical zealots, etc.

IT (2017)

Of course, it can't replace the original, but for a remake, it was watchable. There were some good, dramatic moments and it gave me a good scare. The movie did it's job. The fat kid and the stuttering kid falling in love with the same girl made it more interesting.

4 1/2 stars.

The Grinch (2018)

Your standard Grinch movie really. Nothing really new... at least not enough to warrant going to see in the theater. But it's what the kids wanted to see, so what can you do?
