Let's talk toys for a moment.

Tickle Me Elmo

It was the hottest toy of Christmas 1996 and still remains one of the most talked about toys today. There's even a Mad TV parody of it. Need a laugh? Tickle Elmo!

The 1990's will never come again, and neither will Ricardo Montalban.

Cabbage Patch Kids

You're never too young to adopt a child. Since their arrival in 1982, these baby dolls have delighted kids and families. They even came with an adoption certificate. These adorable dolls still continue to amuse little ones today. Do you or yours remember their first Cabbage Patch Kid?

At least Cabbage Patch Kids had real effort put into their creation and marketing, and made more sense than Beanie Babies.

For pure Retro Goodness, here's the courtroom sentencing scene from "Stir Crazy", 1980.

BionicleFan1994, I remember when I saw all three of these videos on MTV in 2001.

I saw this movie once as a child in 1962 - a Retro Classic. Has anyone else seen this movie?

Mr. Magic, me too man. I have always liked all three bands I mentioned for very different reasons and I loved those three hits you posted as a kid and still do and fond memories of the radio playing these songs and Incubus, Linkin Park and Creed all got me into rock music as a kid especially more alternative rock music. And I know Creed saw a huge brief surge in popularity in the States after 9/11 and their album Weathered came out at the right time.

Although, Creed was always far more off a VH1 band than a MTV band as I don't remember any of Creed's videos ever being on TRL or anything like that. However, Weathered definitely like the band's biggest album at the time of its release as it was the album that even got me into the band's music and it felt like "My Sacrifice" and "One Last Breath" got far more MTV airplay and attention than anything Creed previously made up to that point in time.

And I only said it was controversial because how divisive Creed was and still is to an extent and because I know the Weathered album cover is hideous-looking and out there (even though I don't mind it). But that's a whole another discussion for another day.

As for something else I'd nominate for a Retro Hall Of Fame, I'd nominate Sam Raimi's first two Spider-Man movies which paved the way for the modern live-action comic book genre as we know it today and which are to this day some of my favorite movies of all time and I think they hold up incredibly well and Tobey Maguire is still my favorite Spider-Man. They are now incredibly retro along with Christopher Reeve's Superman movies and Michael Keaton's Batman movies.

Plus, even if you're not a big fan of Raimi's version of Spider-Man...how could you not love Willem Dafoe's performance as Norman Osborn and the Green Goblin (ignoring the silly costume of course):

The Spider-Man movies of the 2000s really are something special. Just pure excitement.

Blockbuster

The mother of all video rental places. But this isn't just a celebration of Blockbuster Video, but video stores in general. We all love video stores, right? Blockbuster is just like Dr. Pepper: Always one of a kind. I mean how many video rental places have video game kiosks? Or it's own popcorn brand?

Netflix may have taken Blockbuster and our other video stores away from us, but we'll always hold the memories in our hearts. Blockbuster forever, baby!! Hooray for the blue and yellow!!!

Mr. Magic,

Yeah man I really miss movie rental stores. Although my family's go-to-movie rental place was Movie Gallery...which while not as anywhere near as good as Blockbuster in its heyday...was still a really cool place to rent movies in my childhood.
