Wow, the “Helping Hand” is as cool as the Pillsbury “Dough Boy”. Nice one MM.

Kraftwerk has been creating visuals to accompany an old musical track from 1978.

I've been a fan of Dawn French since “Murder Most Horrid” back in the 80's.

Citroën sold cars in the United States up to model year 1975.

Why the TV show “CHiP's” from 1977 seemed to imply that a  Citroën DS on three wheels was dangerous made no sense. The DS was designed to operate with a wheel missing.

Quicky

In 1960, Nestle introduced what would later on be, an advertising icon: A brown Quik-loving bunny named Quicky. He did his first commercial in 1973 and many, many more since then.

Do you know why Quicky sounds like Donatello from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? It's because it's the same exact voice actor, Barry Gordon! Yes, sir! Mr. Gordon himself! How cool it is to hear the voice of Donnie and countless other animated characters voice our beloved Quicky as well! Just like Quik/Nesquik, Quicky is a huge huge favorite among kids and adults across the globe. Always has been, always will be. Why haven't they made a Quicky Funko Pop yet? It's an absolute shame! It really is!

This time…I’m nominating something sports and baseball related:

The Montreal Expos!!!:

Especially the 1994 Montreal Expos which are in my opinion the best Major League Baseball team to never win the World Series. And a big argument that the Expos have won it all had it not been for 1994 Strike that forever cursed the franchise as the Expos had the best record in baseball in 94 up until the Strike happened.

I kind of miss the Expos. MLB just hasn't been the same without 'em.

Mr. Magic, yeah it’s a shame what happened to baseball in Montreal. The Expos had a lot of good players over the course of their existence (including Vladimir Guerrero and Pedro Martinez who won his first Cy Young in Montreal in 1997).

This time I am going to nominate three more albums (one that’s an album that I like to listen to around Christmas Time for some reason because I’m always in an Early 90’s Grunge mood around Christmas Time).  And it’s one of the three albums I listed as examples of albums I wished for Christmas on Vinyl.

In Utero - Nirvana (1993):

Yes, I know it might be a little strange to nominate In Utero over Nevermind…but these days I vastly prefer In Utero over Nevermind due to me overplaying Nevermind’s songs as a teenager when I first got real into Nirvana…and just to the fact that I find In Utero to be a superior set of songs.

Pump - Aerosmith (1989):

And here is something completely different:

Toxicity - System Of A Down (2001):

I always enjoy Lithium and Janie's Got a Gun whenever they come on the radio. I used to have the Toxicity album, but I think I lost it.

I haven't talked enough about the retro ladies out there. I mentioned Barbie, but that's it.

Well, I'm gonna talk about one of the coolest ladies of the 80s:

Paula Abdul

When she was 18, Paula was a cheerleader for the L.A. Lakers, then went on to become a choreographer for the Laker Girls. She later on became discovered by The Jacksons. Afterwards, she became a choreographer during the height of the music video era and soon was signed to Virgin Records. Afterwards, her debut album Forever Your Girl debuted, which was one of the most successful albums in 1988.

Ladies and gentlemen, please put your hands together for Paula Abdul!

Hey MM, before the Nesquik Bunny made his appearance in the 1970's, the mascot for Nestle's chocolates beginning in 1955 was “Farfel” the puppet dog.

During Farfel's audition, Jimmy Nelson was so nervous that his finger slipped as Farfel said, “chocolate”. The Nestle's executives were so delighted by the effect that Farfel became Nestle's new mascot fom 1955 to 1965.

Jimmy Nelson and Farfel came out of retirement in 1992 to promote Nestle's special “Holiday Edition” chocolates. This was a final appearance for a generation of fans who remembered, and loved them both.

What a joy to rediscover just how much fun the old Price Is Right used to be.
